Microsoft's revenge to linux is wireless cards.
Broadcom is a secretly microsoft owned company that makes cards that don't work in linux.
The most spastic thing is that you can get your card working in a previous release of your favourite distribution after performing various hacks, search the web , deciding who is closer to the solution, but not on the new release .


update after half an hour:
Finally got it working - again - .
On a dell latitude d830 with  a Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11a/b/g (rev 01) wireless card and mint 5.0 elyssa (based on ubuntu 8.04 hardy).
Seemed that neither ndiswrapper was necessary for rev 01 (issue a lspci command to find your model).
I installed through the hardware drivers gui tool the driver for broadcom.
The caveat was that despite the wi-fi led being on , the bluetooth led should be on too for the wireless to work.
So don't forget to open the bluetooth switch on the left side of the laptop.
 

Many changes are happening on on madpy and kaotonik but as a lazy programmer I don't bother to make them known.
Edit parameters action was meant for developers not regular users so now we have a more friendly face of them under the action name preferences.
You can access this action from any url you can edit -> preferences  , or your blog -> settings -> blog preferences.
There you can find numerous settings to adjust,  as the theme of the object (object can be a page in your blog , an image in your blog or your blog),
whether comments are allowed, if your blog will present items in a table view or plain view ,
whether to show parts of the page such as the header,footer , recent portlet  e.t.c.

Οσον αφορά τη μουσική , ακουω βαβούρες , reggae , ska αλλα τελευταία στο pc ο amarok είναι κολλημένος στο bassdrive.com.

Ένα από τα καλα του να μην εχεις λεφτα είναι ότι μάλλον έχεις παλιο αμαξι.
Το αμαξι σβήνει βέβαια αλλα μάλλον έχεις κασετόφωνο και όχι cd rom και έτσι έχεις την ευκαιρίa να ακούσεις παλια κασσετάκια. Ιδου χτες τι ξεθάψαμε:

Χθές είχε τον Δικαστή Ντρεντ στη τηλεοραση με το σιλβέστρο σταλλόνε.
 Η ταινια έχει φαει πολύ θάψιμο , αλλα και πάλι καλή ηταν γιατι πατάει σε μια απο τις ιστορίες της γενιάς μας .
Μου αρέσουν τα κόμικς και διαβάζω (οχι τόσο όπως παλιά όμως)  .
Αν μου ζητουσαν να πω το no. 1 κομικ , αυτο θα ήταν ο Judge Dredd.
Ναι η ταινια ήταν λίγο ιεροσυλία πρωτα πρώτα γιατί εδειξε αμέσως την βλαχό φατσα του Σταλλόνε.
Ο Αυθεντικος judge dredd δεν είχε δείξει ποτέ τη φάτσα του ήταν ένα απρόσωπο γραφειοκρατικό ον (μηχανη ή όν - διλήμματα που εγείρονται) .
Μου αρεσει η Ε.Φ. και κυρίως αυτη του στυλ του judge dredd .
 Παρόμοιο στυλ έχει και ο Ranxerox και αν δεν ασχολείστε με το σπορ σας αναφέρω το Mad Max.
Αυτή η ΕΦ μου αρέσει , η καταστροφική , οι μέρες της αποκάλυψης , η γη των καταραμένων .
Καθε βδομάδα επαιρνα αγορι  λόγω του judge dredd. Ειχε ιδιαιτερο γούστο να διαβάζεις τον dredd στο κιτρινο φτηνό χαρτί του "Αγόρι". Εχρωμο το κόμικ δεν έλεγε.
 Δεν είναι τυχαίο οτι ο δικαστής ξεκίνησε το 1977 χρονια που περίπου έσκαγε και το punk (ή να πουμε οτι γεννιόταν το hardcore).
Και βέβαιa μέτα ήρθε το I am the law απο τους anthrax (αγαπημένοι και αυτοί) .

O judge dredd είναι ένα ποιημα για το εφιαλτικό μελλον. Και η βαβούρα της κιθάρας των anthrax το soundtrack καθε παρηκμασμένου mega city .

Ρε μαλακα Οικονομιδη παλι ταινια ήταν αυτη που εκανες μαλακα?
Καλα εισαι και πολυ μαλακας ρε γιαννακη! Εισαι και πολύ μαλακας ρε μαλακα.Αρχιδι. παφ φατηνα μαλακα!

Σαφως επηρεασμένος απο ένα ακομα αριστουργημα του Γιαννη Οικονομιδη κοιταζω τα αστερια και αναρωτιέμαι. Τι του βρίσκουν ρε μαλακα? Κοτα !
Παφ! πουστη - καριολη - γαμιολη - πουτανα!
Στο εψιλον(ον οφφ) βλεπουμε οτι το βραδυ εχει αριστουργημα μαλακα ,  ταινια του γιαννη οικονομίδη - - η ψυχη στο στόμα ,  μαλακα μου.. Και .. "Ενα μεγάλο μπραβο στην ΕΡΤ για τη τόλμη της" απο το ον-οφ! Μαλακα.
Εχω δει το σπιρτοκουτο (για λιγο , οσο άντεξα) , αλλα λέω (γιατι έχω καλή πιστη και σκέφτομαι θετικα) , οτι αυτη τη φορά κατι άλλο θα σκέφτηκε ο ποιητής. Μαλακα.
Αλλα μαλακια η σκέψη ρε μαλακα.

Παντως μια εκδοχη ειναι οτι εβαλε στοιχημα με ενα πλουσιο αν μπορει να κανει ταινια και να πει πανω απο 24.256 φορες τη λεξη μαλακα.
Οι 2 αντρες συναντηθηκαν σε δεξιωση και εκει ο οικονομιδης παντα αθυροστομος αρχισε να εκφραζεται με βωμολοχίες και ο πλουσιος επιχειρηματιας ενοχλημενος αλλα και γνωρίζων το επαγγελμα του οικονομίδη (σκηνοθέτης) τον προκαλεσε αν θα έβριζε ετσι και σε μια ταινία του. , βαζοντας μάλιστα στοιχημα διολου ευκαταφρόνητο ποσο.
Ο οικονομιδης καθοτι ελληνοκυπριος και μεγαλο ταλεντο στο business administration οχι απλως δεχτηκε το στοιχημα, αλλα διπλασιασε το bet λεγοντας οτι μπορει ταυτοχρονα να αναφερει συνολικα πανω απο 11.512 φορες μια απο τις λέξεις πουστη, πουτανα και κακα.
Ο επιχειρηματιας μεθυσμενος και της παλιας σχολης πιστεψε οτι η λογοκρισια δεν θα αφηνε τον μικρο τοτε οικονομιδη να εκδοσει τη ταινια.
Βεβαια ο Οικοννομιδης ως πιο ξυπνιος , λαδωσε προκαταβολικα τους μηχανισμους με δάνειο που πηρε απο τη τραπεζα Κυπρου , και εκανε ταινια με κουλτουριαρικο υπονοουμενο συν παρεα με  αναρχικους καλλιτεχνες και ετσι μπορεσε και την εκδοσε και κερδισε το στοιχημα.

Με αυτα τα λεφτα τώρα λαδώνει τους κριτικους και του γραφουν διθύραμβους.
