Internet explorer 6 and it's previous versions is probably the most hated program amongst developers out there. It surely has doubled our work . As for users it is curious to watch this strange addiction that everyday users feel for IE.
Microsoft's politics for this program is a very good reason for every pc user to never use another microsoft product again. For many years they try to enforce their "break the other's standards " standards, and so in result many pages have the known css hacks for IE, specific javascript code for IE and generally asta na pane..
The latest curse I give IE is because of the so common png issue. You see png is a very good open source image format , however IE can NOT handle properly PNG transparency and so if you make a png transparent image the result is that you will have no transparency in IE and the image will look like shit.
The solution is to use the beloved to IE gif format. However , after I created this logo (png) for openroom , that I like very much , every conversion to gif with gimp or photoshop screwed more or less the original very nice png image (that I exported from inkscape).
So I am in a kind of a dead end because IE does not handle png transparency.
Another curse for IE .
Use firefox.

I finally made a decent logo in gif format.
I totally lost about 3-4 hours. The time consuming part was the white logo you see while logging to openroom.
