Linux update is something that tries to correct problems that you never met and creates problems so big you can not work. Debian 5 was released 5 days ago, so since I am running debian lenny for several months i decided to apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade.
Now I cannot change language keyboard layout while I am typing ....
I mean if i start an application and have greek enabled i write greek , but when I ctrl+shift and change to us layout( the kde language indicator shows the us flag) .. no english characters printed....

Of course this is a stopper problem ! And i ve got deadlines.......

Check your xorg.conf and reset the settings in
KDE : System Settings --> Language | System Settings --> Keyboard
Gnome : System --> Preferences --> Keyboard
Ctrl + Alt + Delete (or logout) and pray..
1. Gentoo > Arch > Sabayon > Slackware > Fedora > Lenny
2. freeBSD > dragonFly Bsd
3. openBSD (for servers)
KDE : System Settings --> Language | System Settings --> Keyboard
Gnome : System --> Preferences --> Keyboard

Problem is somewhere in KDE keyboard tool .... When I enable keyboard layouts in kde this problem happens as described above. When i disable keyboard layouts in KDE keyborad tool all things work....The problem is that if i do this i get no flag of the current layout..
This shitty application, KDE keyboard tool , has given me trouble many times before and as I read in the internet , has given trouble to other people as well....
WHO IS THE FUCKER THAT MAINTAINS IT ???
AT LAST : GIVE PRIORITIES TO IMPORTANT THINGS IN LINUX !!!!

After constant use of Linux since 2003 I filnally decided that KDE Keyboard Layout Tool is the worst application / component ever written for linux. I remember it givin me hard times even since the first days. As for a google search... It's all about trouble , bugs and confusion.
